Terms of Service

1. About OkayList

OkayList ("we", "our", or "the Service") is a caregiving coordination platform that helps families and individuals stay organized through shared journals, to-do lists, and step-by-step guides. The Service is operated from Canada and is intended for use by Canadian residents.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use this Service. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you should use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Family Groups

OkayList allows you to create or join a family group to share journals, to-dos, and guides with people you trust. The creator of a family group is responsible for managing membership and content sharing within that group. By inviting someone to your family group, you grant them access to the content you choose to share with them. You are solely responsible for who you invite and what you share.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use OkayList to:

• Upload, share, or store any content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or offensive
• Upload highly sensitive personal, financial, or medical information that could cause harm if exposed
• Share private information about others without their consent
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our written consent
• Upload content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others

6. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create or upload to OkayList, including journal entries, to-do items, guides, images, audio recordings, videos, and PDF documents. By uploading content, you grant OkayList a limited, non-exclusive license to store and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you and the people you share it with.

We do not claim ownership of your content and will not sell or share it with third parties, except as required by law or as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Sharing and Privacy

OkayList gives you control over who can see your content. Journal entries and to-dos can be kept private or shared with specific family group members or everyone in your group. Guides can be published to your family group or made publicly accessible via QR code. You are responsible for reviewing your sharing settings before publishing any content.

We are not responsible for content that becomes accessible to unintended parties as a result of your sharing choices.

8. Content Storage and Files

Files you upload — including images, audio recordings, videos, and PDF documents — are stored on Cloudflare R2, a cloud storage service. While we take reasonable precautions to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are encouraged not to upload highly sensitive personal, financial, or medical documents.

9. Service Availability

We strive to keep OkayList available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by service interruptions.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the Account Settings page. Upon deletion, your personal data and content will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. If you are the owner of a family group, deleting your account will also delete the family group and all associated content. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.

11. Subscriptions and Payments

OkayList offers a free plan and a paid Premium subscription. Premium subscriptions are billed on a yearly basis at the rates displayed on the upgrade page at the time of purchase.

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. By subscribing, you agree to Lemon Squeezy's terms of service. OkayList does not store your payment information.

Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at info.okaylist@gmail.com.

All prices are listed in Canadian dollars. Lemon Squeezy, as our merchant of record, is responsible for calculating and remitting applicable taxes on your behalf.

12. Refunds

We offer a 7-day refund policy for new Premium subscriptions. If you are not satisfied within the first 7 days of purchase, contact us at info.okaylist@gmail.com for a full refund. Refunds are not available after 7 days or for renewal charges.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

OkayList is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or meet your specific requirements. OkayList is a personal organization and coordination tool and is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, or financial advice.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Canadian law, OkayList shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including any loss of data, missed tasks, or reliance on shared guides or journal entries.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the Service or by email. Your continued use of OkayList after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
