Our story
Built for the moments when words aren't enough
OkayList started with a simple frustration — explaining the same thing over and over, and watching the person you're helping forget it by next week.
Why we built this
It started with a router reset. Then a TV remote. Then online banking. Then prescription refills. Every visit, the same questions. Every phone call, the same explanation — patient the first time, a little less so the tenth.
We realized the problem wasn't the people asking. It was that there was no good place to put the answers. A text message gets buried. A sticky note gets lost. A YouTube video is never quite right for your specific device.
OkayList is the place for those answers. A quiet, simple tool for writing down what you know — in plain language, with photos if you need them — and sharing it with the people who need it most.
Who it's for
OkayList is for anyone who finds themselves explaining things to people they care about. Adult children helping aging parents. Spouses helping each other. Caregivers supporting the people they look after. Landlords writing instructions for tenants. Friends helping friends.
If you've ever said "I already showed you this" — OkayList is for you. And if you've ever felt embarrassed asking the same question twice — it's for the people you care about too.
What we believe
Clarity is kindness
A well-written guide is an act of care. It says: I thought about you, I anticipated your confusion, and I made it easier. That's worth doing well.
Simple is better
OkayList will never be cluttered with features you don't need. We keep it focused on one thing — helping you write clear guides and share them easily.
Privacy matters
Your guides often contain personal details about the people you love. We treat that information with respect, and we will never sell it or use it for advertising.
Built in Canada
OkayList is an independent product built and maintained in Vancouver, British Columbia. We're not backed by venture capital or optimizing for rapid growth. We're building something useful, sustainable, and worth paying for.
If you have questions, feedback, or just want to say hello — we'd genuinely love to hear from you at info.okaylist@gmail.com.
